Congress needs to pass legislation to prevent corporations and organizations from using an individual’s private information without the written consent of that person! We should not have to "opt out" in order to prevent someone from using our personal and private information! It’s OUR information and they should not be allowed to use it at their whim without our consent, dammit!
Of course the powerful, well-connected PARASITES (data miners, corporations, and organizations including credit bureaus who thrive on using people’s private information) testify before congress and whine that if congress passes legislation requiring them to get consent before using people’s private information, congress will essentially be putting them out of business!
Well, my response (and I would guess the majority of the American pubic’s response) to putting the parasites out of business is this: THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS OF BUYING AND SELLING PEOPLE’S PRIVATE INFORMATION IN THE FIRST PLACE AND CONGRESS NEEDS TO PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS IMMEDIATELY!!!
